Compare these cards by eligible business spending, renewal cost and how you redeem rewards. BizFirst and BizGrow have lower listed membership fees; BizPower and BizBlack add more premium benefits with higher fees and eligibility requirements. A higher rewards multiplier does not automatically produce a better net result.
Start with a year of real business spending
Separate tax payments, utilities, advertising, software, travel and everyday purchases. Each card can treat these categories differently, and some spending may not count towards a milestone or waiver. Use actual eligible spending rather than your total business turnover.
Fees and eligibility are different questions
HDFC lists ₹500 plus taxes for BizFirst and BizGrow, ₹2,500 plus taxes for BizPower, and ₹10,000 plus taxes for BizBlack. Waiver conditions differ. Meeting an income threshold is only an application requirement; it does not guarantee approval or the specific card variant.
The current BizBlack eligibility page lists business ITR above ₹45 lakh and a mandatory liability relationship. Older campaign descriptions can show different figures, so check the issuer page before making an application.
Look beyond the headline reward
CashPoints and reward points are not necessarily equal to rupees. Check the redemption option you will use, any minimum redemption, expiry, processing charge and monthly caps. A tax payment with an extra processing fee can produce less value than the headline multiplier suggests.
Premium benefits need usable conditions
BizPower domestic lounge access is linked to prior-quarter spending. BizBlack lounge access has an active-cardholder condition. Include a lounge benefit in your calculation only if the relevant airport, date and spending requirement fit your usual travel.
A practical comparison example
A small business with mostly routine bills may prefer to compare the lower-fee pair first. A business with regular eligible tax payments and travel can assess the premium pair, but should subtract fees and transaction charges before counting reward value. This is a comparison method, not an individual recommendation.
Compare the decision factors
| Option or factor | When it fits | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| BizFirst | Lower-fee business option | ₹500 plus taxes; waiver and CashPoint redemption rules |
| BizGrow | Eligible business-payment categories | ₹500 plus taxes; acceleration caps and spend exclusions |
| BizPower | Business rewards and conditional travel benefits | ₹2,500 plus taxes; lounge spend threshold |
| BizBlack | Premium business rewards and travel | ₹10,000 plus taxes; income, relationship and activity requirements |
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose any variant through the application link?
The bank determines eligible variants and approval. Confirm the actual offer in the application.
Does paying GST always earn extra rewards?
No. Check qualifying channels, reward caps, excluded transactions and any payment processing fee.
Should I spend more just to waive a fee?
Compare the fee saving against the extra spending. Unneeded purchases can cost far more than the waiver.
