How to choose a credit card for online shopping in India
One comparison page for listed card benefits, fees and eligibility—so you can make a shortlist without searching every application page first. TheTurnBook helps you compare; the bank or authorised provider handles your application.
| Your shopping goal | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Amazon or Flipkart sale purchase | Eligible bank and card, minimum spend, maximum discount, EMI eligibility and excluded products. |
| Everyday online cashback | Eligible websites, cashback caps, excluded transactions and how rewards are redeemed. |
| Low annual cost | Joining fee, renewal fee, GST and the spending required for a fee waiver. |
| A first or FD-backed card | Deposit requirement, credit limit, deposit lien and issuer eligibility rules. |
Instant discount, cashback and reward points are different
An instant discount reduces the eligible checkout amount. Cashback normally arrives later under the card’s terms. Reward points may have a different cash value and redemption cost. Do not add all three together unless the offer explicitly permits it.
Compare savings after fees
For example, ₹1,000 of eligible annual cashback minus a ₹500 annual fee and ₹90 GST leaves ₹410 before any other charges. This is an illustration, not an offer. Consider interest and repayment costs too; spend within your budget and check the full fee schedule.
How to compare a credit card before applying
A useful comparison starts with your usual spending, not just the headline reward. Shopping cashback, travel rewards and fuel benefits may have different caps, eligible merchants and exclusions. Check the exact card variant and offer on the issuer’s website.
Compare fees alongside rewards
Review the joining fee, annual fee and any spending threshold for a fee waiver. A lifetime-free offer generally refers to joining or annual fees; interest, late-payment and other charges can still apply. Pay particular attention to how and when rewards can be redeemed.

Credit card comparison: your questions answered
Can one card receive every Amazon and Flipkart sale offer?
No. Sale discounts depend on the bank, card variant, payment mode, eligible purchase and offer limits. Check the live retailer terms before paying.
Will a newly approved card be ready before the sale?
Not necessarily. Approval, activation and delivery depend on the issuer. Apply only when the card fits your needs; do not rely on receiving it before a sale date.
Does TheTurnBook issue credit cards or guarantee approval?
No. TheTurnBook compares listed offers. Applications, KYC and approval are handled by the bank or authorised provider.
Does meeting the listed criteria guarantee approval?
No. The issuer assesses your application, documents and credit profile. These listed requirements are informational.
Is a lifetime-free card free of every charge?
A joining or annual fee waiver does not remove interest, late-payment charges, cash-withdrawal charges or other applicable fees. Confirm the issuer’s full fee schedule.
What does FD-backed mean?
The card is secured against a fixed deposit. Check the required deposit, credit-limit calculation and lien or withdrawal conditions with the issuer.
Where do I submit my application documents?
On the issuer’s authorised application journey. This comparison page does not collect PAN, income documents or card application details.
